Accommodation

EAVA does not have its own dormitory. Options for accommodations:

1) Tartu Üliõpilasküla campus in a city (5 min walk to Tartu town hall square) center, where 6 places have been booked for EAVA exchange students, thus places will be guaranteed only for first applicants. Rooms are being shared by 2 students. Monthly cost for one place is 210 euros. See the extra costs here. Further information and application link will be sent to you, when we have received your documents. Students sign a contract with the campus by themselves.

2) Estonian University of Life Sciences campus (25 min walk to Tartu town hall square). Campus offers rooms for 1 (85 euros) and 2 students (one place costs 75 euros). Deposit 100 euros will be added. Further information and application link will be sent to you, when we have received your documents. Students sign a contract with the campus by themselves.

Banking

There are several banks between which you can choose to open your bank account or use any other bank-related services. Current account can be opened in Euros or in foreign currency.

Opening a personal current account is free of charge. Most times you can open an account without any initial deposit. To open a bank account, go to any branch of a bank. Mostly it is required to submit:

  • A valid ID with a photo (for example a passport);
  • A document that proves your student status at the hosting institution (student card or confirmation of studies - will be issued by me).

Transport

Plains arrive to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. The distance between Tallinn and Tartu is 200 km. The easisest way to arrive to Tartu is taking a bus, which drives between Tallinn and Tartu almost every half an hour during the day The bus ticket costs about 10 euros.

In Tartu we will give you the public transport schedule. Ticket from town to academy costs about 1 euro. If you have any more questions about transport, ask them from academy’s Erasmus coordinator.
